KSRTC online booking, step by step.

Reserve Airavat, Ambaari, Rajahamsa and Karnataka Sarige seats on ksrtc.in or the KSRTC AWATAR app in about five minutes. Below: the booking flow, the advance reservation window, cancellation rules, concessions and where to get help.

    Open ksrtc.in or the KSRTC AWATAR app

    The official reservation portal is ksrtc.in (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation). The AWATAR app is on the Play Store and App Store. Avoid look-alike sites; KSRTC never charges a booking fee beyond the ticket and payment-gateway charge.

    Enter from, to and journey date

    Type the origin and destination city. Bengaluru services are grouped under Kempegowda Bus Station, Mysuru Road Satellite Bus Stand and Shantinagar, so check the boarding point list before you pick a bus.

    Compare bus classes and timings

    Results list every reservable service with departure time, class (Airavat, Ambaari, Rajahamsa, Karnataka Sarige…), fare and seats left. Sort by departure or fare. See our KSRTC bus types guide if the class names are new to you.

    Pick seats and boarding point

    Choose seats on the layout, then select your boarding and dropping points. Premium services stop at many city pick-ups, which is handy if you live far from Majestic.

    Enter passenger details

    Name, age and gender for each passenger, plus a mobile number and email for the e-ticket. Concession passengers must carry the relevant ID on board.

    Pay and save the e-ticket

    UPI, cards, net banking and wallets are accepted. The e-ticket arrives by SMS and email; the PNR plus a valid photo ID is all the conductor needs.

Reservation windows, cancellation slabs and concession rules are set by KSRTC and change from time to time. The figures here reflect KSRTC's published policy in September 2026; the live rule shown on ksrtc.in at the time of booking prevails.

Concessions, passes and on-board tickets

Ordinary and Karnataka Sarige services do not need reservation: pay the conductor on board with cash or UPI. Senior citizens, students and persons with disabilities get concession fares on eligible classes with a valid ID or KSRTC pass. Under the Shakti scheme, women residents of Karnataka travel free on non-premium classes inside the state.

Reprinting or recovering a ticket

Lost the SMS? Log in on ksrtc.in, open My Bookings and resend the e-ticket, or show the PNR number from the payment confirmation along with a photo ID.

Where the bus actually leaves from

Bengaluru has three KSRTC terminals. Check the stand timetables for Kempegowda Bus Station, Mysuru Road Satellite Bus Stand and Shantinagar so you go to the right one, and allow extra time in the 5–8 PM peak.

Frequently asked questions

How many days in advance can I book a KSRTC bus ticket?

KSRTC opens advance reservation for most services 30 days before the journey date; select premium services and festival specials may open earlier or later. Seats for the busiest weekend departures are usually gone a week ahead.

What are KSRTC cancellation charges?

Cancellation charges are slab-based on the time left before departure: a small deduction when cancelled well in advance, rising to a much larger share of the fare within the last few hours. Tickets cannot be cancelled after the scheduled departure. The current slabs are shown on ksrtc.in at the time of cancellation.

How do I cancel or reschedule a KSRTC ticket online?

Log in on ksrtc.in or the AWATAR app, open My Bookings, choose the ticket and pick Cancel or Reschedule. Refunds are credited to the original payment method within a few working days.

Is the KSRTC booking counter cheaper than online?

The fare is the same. Online bookings may add a small payment-gateway charge, but you get seat selection and boarding-point choice without queuing at the counter.

Can women travel free on KSRTC under the Shakti scheme?

Yes. Women who are residents of Karnataka travel free on ordinary and express classes (for example Karnataka Sarige, Express, Rajahamsa non-AC) within Karnataka on showing a valid ID. Premium AC classes such as Airavat and Ambaari are excluded. Free-travel seats are issued on board, not through online reservation.

What is the KSRTC helpline number?

KSRTC's central helpline is 080-4959-6666. Many bus stands publish their own enquiry numbers, which are listed on the stand pages in this directory.

Does Ask Bengaluru sell KSRTC tickets?

No. Ask Bengaluru is an independent timetable directory. Tickets are sold only through KSRTC's official channels and authorised agents.
